Geno's Get's OK on "Speak English" Sign

The Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations finally finished it's two year investigation into whether a sign "Order in English Only" is discriminatory. So that should put it all to rest, nobody is allowed to complain about this anymore... OK?

What do the words trans, transgender or transsexual mean? What is it like for a trans person in the workplace, in the community, or as an artist or cultural worker involved in social change? As more people begin to take notice of trans people and media interest increases, it is important for trans individuals and their allies to speak for themselves to the broader community with an emphasis on overcoming myths, negative stereotypes, and misconceptions. This event is presented in partnership with the Leeway Foundation featuring panelists from Leeway’s board, staff, and grant recipients, joined by staff from the White Dog Cafe who will share their personal stories, observations and art
